Target Audience
- Perioperative Nurses looking to validate your professional achievements by becoming a CNOR.
- Certification candidates wanting assistance with exam contents and development of a study plan.
- Beneficial for new perioperative nurses in the study of perioperative clinical theory.

Goals and Purpose
The purpose of this educational offering is to provide through planned learning situations knowledge of
identified standards of practice by perioperative registered nurses providing care for patients before, during,
and after surgery in preparation for the perioperative nursing certification exam. The goal is to reduce the
stress of the exam and develop a study plan to increase the probability in the achievement of the title CNOR.
Learning Objectives
- Identify the taxonomy of the Certified Nurse of the Operating Room exam.
- Describe perioperative nursing interventions to achieve the patient outcome criteria of freedom from
injury in the perioperative environment.
- Describe perioperative nursing interventions to achieve the patient outcome criteria of freedom from
infection in the perioperative environment.
- Discuss perioperative patient outcomes related to changes in the physiological and psychological
response to surgical intervention.
- Apply critical thinking skills in caring for patients with perioperative complications.
- List perioperative nursing activities that provide competent, ethical, and legal care of the patient.
- Discuss unique nursing test taking strategies.

approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
